i think she would have un-married you if you did!

Nah, we discussed that today.

If I wanted to maintain the status quo, she would have been happy...as she should, she's knocked me back 3 times over the years.

I've been on the verge of asking again over the last few months...and made a Freudian slip at work putting her down on the Cup sweep with my surname...workmates gave me a pizzling on Tues over it.

Been pressure from her family when we moved in. Her family when we bought a house. Then when we were having our daughter, pressure from both families. Our son was a few gentle reminders of marital status.

Then her Mum got cancer, and the pressure was on again. When her Mum was terminal, it was on big time.

Told me yesterday that she'd reached a point where she wanted to be and it would be for her and us, not to keep family and society happy.

well, we had our wedding scheduled for a december. sent out invites in november the prior year (13 months!) in January, oops (good oops) got pregnant, unmarried. my parents applied that same pressure said we had to be married in march... man i don't really want to talk about it! we said no, the plan is the plan, it makes no difference to us. so we got married with a baby with us in december. it's all about what is between you. nothing else. it's funny because my parents said they are not worried about us but about our daughter who will have a chip on her shoulder her whole life because she was born out of wedlock.... my god. my wife actually stood up to my parents in true blue style and told them they are full of it and to pull their head in (she was born in very complex family circumstances)
