I disconnected the two batteries so I could test each one independently. They are the same, about 57%. It was about 45F to 50F out. So maybe at 70F it would be in the low 60%.

I am thinking I will go for two AGM batteries. The only AGM batteries I know of that are made by East Penn are NAPA. AAP has Diehard but unsure who makes those. Walmart does not show any AGM batteries in my state (in store or to order).

I am unsure on the price, but as an alternative maybe see what Motorcraft AGM batteries a dealer near you sells? Again I am not sure on price only speaking from experience as the battery in my '19 F150 is massive and AGM so I'd assume they must stock them.

In the big city up that way there is a Federated Auto parts store with the name Arch Auto parts. In my area it's Fisher Auto parts.

The Pepboys Champion battery is also JCI and they have the same H8 battery with their 25% off at $172.50 so slightly cheaper and has a 4 year warranty instead of 3 at Costco.

I know NAPA gives discounts to car repair shops and has given me a discount a few times. What is the percentage they would give to a shop for a $200 battery?

It will be interesting to see if the EP batteries at Napa, BJs, etc follow suit and are made in Mexico too, like the ones that they supply Walmart.

I will say that I outfit my Ram CTD with two value group 65 batteries from Walmart. Out the door for less than $100 for both, and they handle starting and the high draw of the Cummins grid heaters (up to 200A).

For $100 for both versus $200-400 for the higher end versions or AGM, it was worth it to me to try, even with group 65 being slightly undersized (OE is group 27). My truck has a block heater and starts really strong and well. YMMV.
