I really want to see how the new Mobil & Amsoil oils perform now that they reformulated. Two top notch brands with very different formulations.

I'll be watching the FE and TBN retention with M1. Mobil now claims superior performance on the SEQ IVA and IIIG wear tests.

I like the new Amsoil formulations also. High TBN from the large amount of calcium. Nice dose of moly and boron too. Volatility is impressive with the SS 5w20. I believe that oil uses no viscosity modifiers.

buster,

I'll have one in about 4-6 weeks on my 2011 Tundra 5.7L. In fact, the oil installed is the same exact batch on which the VOA was performed - on the Mobil 1 SN 0W-20.

Nice. How many miles bt?

Buster -

Not sure if you are asking how many miles on the UOA interval or on the truck itself.

When I draw the sample for the UOA, the truck will have attained 10,000 miles, for a total UOA interval of 5,000 miles (i.e., the oil will have been in service from 5K - 10K miles). The truck requires 5K intervals for warranty.

The oil and filter on this truck was changed at 1K AND at 2.5K to help remove any factory contaminants and/or break in wear. I suspect wear may still be somewhat elevated but shouldn't be anything spectacular.

This is the same exact regimen I followed with my 2006 Tundra (that I still have) which was used in the long series of used oil analysis comparing oil filters.

I did an oil change on the '11 Prius at 3k with Mobil 1 0w-20 SN. The next oil change will be at the 10k mark, since Toyota will be paying for that oil change. So, the oil will have been in the car for 7k.

Is anyone interested?

Definetly!

I'd love to try the new Mobil 1 Advanced Fuel Economy 0W-20, if they sold it up here!

I was going to pull a sample at 5k but decided to wait.

I'll have some Amsoil XL 5w20 with 10k on it, in a couple of months

Pulled from my 07 Civic EX.

I've had the lowest oil consumption ever with the new SN 0w20. I'm curious to see if how it holds up wit only a 8.3 Tbn.
