Maybe there’s a way to hack the display with the software from the GR86? I know ForScan for Fords can unlock all kinds of electronic gadgets. The features are usually all they same, they simply turn some on and off for platform or trim level changes.

To my knowledge, no one is actively working on hacking/jailbreaking the digital gauge cluster in the 86 community for Gen 2 at the moment. I'm sure it could be done given that it's fully digital and they both use the same ECU.
