Long Allen sockets?

For some reason I can’t get one bolt down on my OM603.971 engine. I think I might actually need 1/4” drive to work at all, the mounting ear on the intake is in the way. I hit a lot of resistance once halfway in, and have used multiple bolts. Ugh. Just what I need in an aluminum head.

Make sure all the other bolts are loose and make yourself a poor mans tap/thread chaser. Just take a bolt of the correct size and thread pitch then with a dremel cutoff wheel cut 3 lines down the threads, use a lube when running it down, go forward a little then back it off and go again to clear any debris.

Yah, I thought I invented that working on bugs

Thing I learned about wallowed out socket heads and fixing boogered threads is that you need to move the metal back to its original location. If you remove metal, then you need to add metal back
