I must log-off of BITOG for a while. Many areas of my life, including my marriage & my job, are being negatively affected by the amount of time that I spend online. I have made myself a promise to spend less time online, & I am determined to keep that promise. This is not the only car-related forum I frequent, & that's part of the problem. So for now, I must log off of all internet forums, & get back in touch with my TRUE off-line life.

Thanks to everyone who has helped me here at BITOG. I truly appreciate all of you.

Until next time, this is wavinwayne, logging off.

You are making the right decision Wayne, and I have alot of respect for you to be able to admit it. Your family and job certainly come before the internet. Good Luck, Joe

Wayne, Faith, Family, Finances, Fun.

Enjoy rebalancing those priorities !

I look forward to see you in the future and appreciate your past contributions.

Let us know, someday, how it goes.

I would not have ever spent as much time as I do online but for being disabled. I couldn't wrench on the '71 Chrysler anymore (so bye-bye to it a few years ago), and can't work in the yard for more than a half-hour or so without a strong helper or a crew to supervise (even then, have to plan out the rest days before and after).

Cooking became something I contribute to my familys welfare. The car kept our expenses low (paid-for, appreciating in price, cheap to insure, etc); gardening made for beauty; and now cooking keeps -- I hope -- morale up and the like.

I am lucky that serious music and literature have been life-long pursuits. The mind can't do what it could in years past, but the reflection is still a great pleasure to discuss with our son (as well as a nephew).

Time is short. The life with others is to be treasured (even after a bad day).

Hope you find that most enjoyable thing to do with family and that it is new again. Work and community involvement will only benefit.

Jot down your ID and password so that when you come back there will be some continuity.

I guess that he has already logged off and won't see the suggestion..

I too need to cut back. I dropped AskMeHelpDesk because I didn't have the time to give the trolls there the kid glove treatment admin demanded. They seem to place a much lower value on knowledge, honesty, and integrity than I do.

I'm glad to see he has this much wisdom.
I got hooked on being online in high school and wound up dropping out my junior year. Bad scene.
Drugs and alcohol are not the only master you can wind up with.

All I can say is if you manage to do this I envy you. I've cut out my internet usage at home but at work I can't help it. With my security job I don't have anything else to do but homework and well that sometimes doesn't get done. Good luck.

Only 3202 posts in 18 months? What's the big deal? Pablo can do that in a couple of weeks.

Get back soon. I love N. Alabama, ww... FWIW, I only surf after 5:00 pm. Or on weekends. Or all day long at work.
