Can't log into Netgear router with Mac

Do you have any antivirus type software or extensions that could be rejecting the request to connect to the router? I believe last time I had remote into my router using the ip a message came up about not a secure address. Also try unplugging the modem from the router waiting a few seconds to a minute then plug it back in this may correct any MAC adders or ip conflicts

The Macbook Air that I use does not have any AV software, other than whatever is baked into the MacOS. When I'm home later tonight I'll try the things you and Pew suggested and see what happens.

Since you stated that you reproduced the problem on both another Mac and your work PC, it's unlikely to be specific to your machine. If you think it is, boot the Mac into Safe Mode and try again.

I'm not familiar with the Nighthawk anymore, but if you can access its logs via the phone app, you should be able to find your answer very quickly.

Update: I was able to log into the router settings by disconnecting the ethernet cable from the modem to the router. Then I connected a Windows 11 Dell laptop to the router via ethernet and the laptop's wifi turned off.
