I was told that it was a great idea to change a pcv valve my car has the original one in it i am assuming but need to know if this is an easy proceedure to do where it is located and the possible benifiets of doing this. i am a novice at this sort of thing and i have no idea how to do it. My brother told me it was simple and i should start to do my own maintainance so i can troubleshoot problems in the future and this was a simple thing to start with.

thanks in advance.

I believe it is on the front valve cover towards the driver side. There'll be a tube running from the PCV valve to the intake tube near the throttle body. Just grasp the little 90 degree plastic elbow that connects the valve to the tube, and pull it up. The PCV will slide out of a grommet in the valve cover. You should go get a Haynes/Chilton manual from the auto store, it'll explain a everything. Honestly, the PCV is probably fine unless you've skipped a lot of oil changes.
