Liquimoly does have MoS2! Ok....a bit of additive sub-forum clickbait

The other part of the LM "thing" to me at least is their support of the Euro car enthusiast community. They are at the events, the shops that do the work at the events are using it, the online vendors/shops that you buy all your vape-boi stuff from sell it so in that respect, buying LM as a choice over say M1 is really in many ways for me a support of businesses I like so in that regard, LM is a good thing.

Edit: And since I get it from FCP and it's free/at most $21 shipping it's still cheaper than anything at Walmart.

Edit edit: And I'm paying $100 for a HPL change in my GSW.
I get it. Bought a lot of Redline because of their ties with so many Honda/Acura race teams.

LM Threads today are like the Amsoil / Red Line / Royal Purple topic/discussions of 10+ years past.. Just because LM is all over some race teams doesnt mean its a better oil. Just means they are advertising ( sponsoring people who NEED Funding) to expand their market share. If LM / Motul etc were available at Walmart as readily as say Castrol/M1 / Penzoil the "crowds" would be saying it cant be any good,,,, it has to be a lesser quality and the "rabid" enthusiast crowds may go hunt something like Fuchs oil and since its not readily available will say it has to be a better oil.. . ALL are quality oils.. Just because LM costs more doesnt make it any better or superior to M1 or Castrol for 99% of the drivers out there. GET the RIGHT Spec Approved oil vs worry about the UOA saying this or the UOA was saying that. .

I think most folks here understand/acknowledge that it's nothing special but yes, in the auto inter-verse, it's revered as blood of JC/unicorn tears due the heavy marketing by the companies that sell it.

I get what you are saying. Florida friends were freaking out on the 0w20 shortage at many locations and it only being a mail order item. I have worked in dealerships where we would have used 5w20 and hoped for correct product on another trip. I use LM when I can but my Audi and wifes Ford will survive without it. If someone is worried about using a different product I can assure them that if it doesn't set a warning light why worry about it? I even switched our Ford 3.5 which officially on a 5w20 blended or synthetic only. I used Castrol European synthetic 0w40 for several years with no issues, the reason was I found them changing packaging and bought many 5qt jugs for about $1 a qt. No harm done and at 14 yrs old its back to 5w20 syn , 87k miles and yearly change with 1/2 qt loss per yr. I added LM additive for years until I ran out which was during the pandemic.

Hard to argue with that advertising in my Audi Club magazine.

LM oil is the Nr. 1 Brand here in Germany for 11 Years in a row. Just saying. The main difference is, that i can buy it cheap here or i simply buy MEGUIN oil, this company belongs to LM, it´s exactly the same oil, but cheaper. Yes, you pay the name on the Jug... as with every Brand!

But, they also have some really good oils. Their new "Street race" PAO Motorcyle oils where praised at the russian oil forum as a really great oil, modern and really "raceworthy". In Contrast, in the german oil geek crowd, nobody uses and likes castrol....go figure.

Dumped a can in for the track event in a few weeks to mix with the LM Leichtlauf High Tech 5W40 in there with 2 days of track use on it already. Will change out this oil for HPL after the event. Slippery.....

I would do it with all the vehicles you own. I'd be surprised if more BITOG'ers didn't.
I just keep those HPL gallon bottles, Supertech 5qt, and Liquimoly 5qt bottles all lined up under my work bench (with MoS2 on tap).
