Lifetime Wheel Alignment pros and cons?

I would just get/pay for the alignment when & if you need one.
I've been turned down on the LIFETIME ALIGNMENT from Good/Year because I installed new suspension parts and needed an alignment.
They can turn you down for just about anything after you've paid them all that money. Better read the fineprint
Wow. I used to off road pretty hard and my entire suspension / steering has been replaced more than once. They never complain when parts are good. The last time I was in there after replacing a pitman and idler arm the tech was pleased with it being in good condition. Even said he'd like to buy a truck in that kind of condition.

It depends where you live and the type of car you drive. We have a Subaru with 170K that only needed an alignment once after some suspension work. We had an Accord which needed it every 30K on terrible SE Michigan roads. Eventually it was no longer possible to align it at all.

Pros: If you plan to keep the vehicle for a long time
Cons: If you plant to keep the vehicle for a short period of time ( less than 5 years)

thanks for all the replies and insights

my wife and I must have bad luck with pot holes and or bumping curbs while parallel parking.

Part of me thinks it would be worth it to get toe adjustments as needed.
On unit body mac strut - that is bending or rupturing something. The days of UCA/LCA shifting under the shim stack are gone - except with trucks.

So now you have a frame/body shop rack job - or an old Guy with a BEAR and chains and come-along

Forget it especially at Firestone and similar stores. They will claim you need some sort of front end work done before they can/will do the alignment. So that lifetime alignment does not mean they will do it everytime - they will find something that they will say is safety related and won't do the alignment. Now if they found something for real, well ok - but I have not seen integrity and Firestone in the same sentence EVER.

Last time I had an alignment was around 20 years ago. I would pass on the lifetime agreement.
So-what do you do? Just keep buying tires-when you have front end wear? AND PLEASE don't tell us the front end is always in alignment.
