Guys,

I just want thank each and every one of you for your unique contributing to my education
on the topic- thoroughly enjoyed it.

A little more educated man. Many Thanks!

I've used 0w-20 and 5w-20 for slightly better fuel economy. You can also use 5w-30 in the Texas heat for high speed driving without any ill effects. Toyota and Lexus now use 0w-20 in that engine so the choice is yours.

One thing to watch out for is the water pump at this mileage. If you notice a drop in coolant, inspect the pump as it's probably leaking due to the acidity that builds up in the coolant. Right now is a good time to drain, refill with distilled water, run the engine, drain and refill with Toyota OEM coolant to get rid of any acidity that may have been built up which is corrosive to this pump. My ES350 started leaking at 57k miles and My RX350 at 70k miles.

Thinking of PMing my WP when I change the coolant at 100K

I have the same car and I tried a lotta oils.
M1 5W30 EP or Amsoil 5W30 are the best oils out there for this engine.
Go with OEM filter.

Spartuss, Curious to know how many extra miles did you get out of 0W-20 and 5W-20.

I'd assume not very many extra miles but they all ran excellent on the thinner oil and that's what Toyota/Lexus recommends now on these engines.

Thought I would share with you guys. I called the Lexus dealer in Houston and the service consultant
said to stick with 5-W30 and not deviate from what the manual recommends. When I quizzed him further
he did not have a convincing response.

The cost of OEM Lexus filters (before taxes) are:
- Oil: $8.26
- Air: $19:98
- Cabin: standard- $48.84, odor absorbing- $70.52 and paper- $29/-

Not a high mileage vehicle. You might want to avoid high mileage oils until you see leaking or an oil consumption problem.

The HM oils many times are the ones on sale. But you'd be smart to avoid them because they will cause what specific damage to your car?

The additive used to treat oil seals cause them to swell and take a new set. If you then stop using HM oil, the oil leaks may return and may become worse.

Sorry I've done that and it didn't happen!
