The repetitive regurgitation of this issue is the thing that sucks.

It's appears to be strangely satisfying for you.

You're the one who always brings it up all the time and cries that everyone talks about Fram too much ... sucks for you I guess - LOL. They talk about it for a reason, and it's not to make you chime in and always whine about Fram talk ... or is it?

It's been nearly a whole year since the whole media tearing issue raised it's ugly head. Purolator should have figured it out by now, don't ya think?

Maybe by using inferior media and/or manufacturing quality? Maybe Purolator was trying to maintain that "US built $3.27" filter but had a bit of a derailment trying.

I agree. I think it was a reasonable response.

The reason it has taken me a while to post it is because I'm caring for an elderly parent, and I'm working full time too and trying to get things ready for retirement. Also, I didn't know how to get the document in a format to post it, or even how to post it. I had to figure all that out, and it took some time, and I had to work on it in short slices of time here and there.

X2. This is the kind of thing zo6 lives for. Just ignore it, or a bunch of cronies will hijack the thread. Been down this road before.

Lame response, reminds me of the 3000 mile filter change on everything deal-bet Mann & Hummel doesn't treat their Euro/German customers this way-or they'd be OUT of business!

Congrats that you got a response! I recieved the "we are forwarding it along to QC" email and then crickets. Must use oversized brittle pleats in their mail-bag and my forwarded message was lost.

I agree silver with the good $3.27 filter thing but it seems they are screwing up lately. I bought an ultra (not cheap) and am waiting to install it but i must say that filter looks very very well built. It made me rethink fram. I will know when i use it and i will monitor my oil gauge and maybe even hook up my electronic engine stethoscope if my ocd kicks into overdrive.
As for purolater they were good at one time now i would not even consider one of their oil filters on an engine i rebuild or service.

You mean their legal dept or any internal review would not have corrected the spelling and grammar?

They should have. I'm not excusing the grammar, rather just commenting on the content.

LOL ... tag teamin' now I see. So answer me this. I'm not the only guy here to talks about the FU and puts down the tearing Purolators (rightly so), there are dozens of members who talk about and mention the FU. Yet you two jokers always come out of the woodwork when I happen to make a comment about it. What's the story on that? Kind of infatuated or something? ... LOL.

Products can change over time ... may get better, may get worse for many reasons and factors. Quality can build or tear down a reputation. You've seen it in action right here over the last 10 months.

The sad thing is-the $1.99 QS filters from Menards seem to be fine, while the much more expensive Classics haven't been. Mann & Hummel seems to have won the race to the bottom!

I need to break down and try one of those quaker state filters. My Jeep probably wont like it, but at least I tried. Lol

They are US made too right?

I will say thanks to Purolater"s quality issues i picked up a Fram Ultra to cut open but it impressed me so much out of the box i decided to use it for 7000 miles just to see what i think and then cut it open and post my findings. It looks and feels like a quality filter. It will be on a truck that i can see the oil pressure and listen to start up and other noises with my trained ears. I am one of those that said many times that i would never think of using a fram but this filter may change my mind altogether. I also like that Fram has Jay there to answer questions about their products and honestly so far he tells it like it is... This Impressed me.

Well, Jeeez dude, took you long enough
