I haven't seen much on here about their products. Would you guys care to enlighten me. base stocks, OCI, Cost..yadda yadda Yoo?

Johnny, what are your thoughts on their 'universal' synthetic ATF which they also market under Wolf's Head?

Wolf's head used to be a made by the same company that made Pennzoil and QS but is now owned by Amalie. I think that the products in an Amalie bottle are the exact same as those in a Wolf's Head bottle (especially the 'Universal Synthetic ATF' since it has the same verbiage).

I thought they were pretty good...a co worker is running the syn, and he seems to like it....

I'd like to try it and do a UOA on it, but I'm not sure I want to deal with the M1 "burn off" in my car....

C-worker is using the full syn (5w30) right now....he just switched from syntec about 1k ago. He likes it so far.

Decent oil, nothing special.

Thanks Johnny. I emailed them once asking but of course "they could not divulge that information".

Well, Johnny can jump into this Pandora's box as well, but IMO, there is no way a single oil can replace both Ford type F and GM's Dexron at the same time. To top off with a quart or two? Maybe. But not a complete fill.

I don't have a real problem with the multi-vehicle ATF's where it comes to Dex III, Mercon V, Z1 etc., but I do have a problem when they say those are good for ATF+4. I also agree with Kruse about the Type F fluids. Completely different additive technology.

Amalie also 'claims' their universal synt. ATF can be used in CVT transmissions. I think that's pushing it a bit.

Amalie has since added a Special CVT fluid as a separate product.Guess it caught up with them finally.

Hmmm.... but I thought C/P was selling base oils to Amalie, may have even been their hydro treated base oil.

In Tampa, Florida, there are billboards that advertise Amalie synthetic oil.

It says "One day you'll break down and try it."

I don't like the way that sounds.

They are nice billboards that surely cost a lot of money, but I still have no idea where to buy any Amalie products in the Tampa area.

I've come across their Wolf's Head products in my travels. That part of my gut that warns "Stay away!" from [censored] is telling me this isn't [censored]. That and $2 + tax will buy a cup of coffee.

Wait, since when was '[censored]' a naughty word? Oh [censored], [censored], [censored]-[censored]-[censored]!

Would it be okay if I point out that [censored] is the last name of one of my closest friends?

For the sake of clarity, please replace the symbol "[censored]" with the word "garbage" in the above except where it is used as a name.

Has anyone ever had a UOA done?
Or is there any technical data. The only info I found was Visc @ 40 and 100c
No info on elements, TBN, HT/HS, etc.

PQIA tested their Wolf's Head brand 5W-20. Noting special it even looked basic so to say. I would use it but I would not pay full retail or go out of my way to buy it.
