Could they make an SUV the same height as a sedan if they wanted to?

Are they worried that it would be perceived as a station wagon if they did?

I just don't see the point in raising the center of gravity if it's not necessary.

Look at the Army's Humvee. They don't have that thing jacked up 10 feet in the air.

I find the older I get the easier it is for me to step up than get into a low rider... not that I can't but its just easier for seniors...

That’s one of the reasons I would never own a large SUV. I don’t like sitting up high and I don’t like the floaty feeling they have either. I could see myself in a very small SUV one day though but I would probably end up putting lowering springs on it to make it more stable and make it look better as well 😃

A lot of compact SUVs ride very nice. We have owned two. The 2019 VW Tiguan was much like a small station wagon. The new Ford Escape has a very nice ride except for the OE Michelin Primacy tires. That can be remedied. Something like the Ford Bronco Sport is horrible. It's shape and short wheelbase make for a terrible ride.

I recently wedged myself into my buddies Mercedes AMG GT. I'm not a small guy but not a big boy either. It was the most absolute uncomfortable vehicle I ever driven. You have to squat down with your butt about 6 inches off the ground to get in while still hitting your head on the door jam. The seat bolsters squeezed and crushed my hips.

But man oh man what a ride!! The acceleration pinned you in the seat and cornering is better than any car I have ever driven. With the right driver behind the wheel I'm 100% convinced this is as good as anything out there in the same price range.

Mitsubishi Sport is doing great
Really prefers 89 octane....
That and my oil elixir
Pablo accused me and that Canadian of hypermiling which was incorrect as I achieved 48.5 mpg trying but ran 10 mph over the speed limit...
This was for 14.7 miles and no attempt to get mpgs ....all back roads

The insurance bills start to make you cry at that point.. and their always showing up!
Kentucky is pretty harsh when it comes to vehicle property taxes as well.

I would just trade something but I’m in the envious position of really liking four out of the five. The only one I don’t like is the terrible 98 Chevy 4x4 but (a) it’s basically just an engine and transmission with a bunch of rust and failing electronics bolted on and (b) it was my dad’s and I can’t ever see letting it go. He’s been gone 15 years and I still haven’t taken his reading glasses out of the dash storage space, so it’s pretty obvious I have an unreasonable sentimental attachment to the old rust pile.
