Lets talk about new vehicles

The tale of Toyota dealers in town… only one listed up front pricing. Just starting research on a Camry LE later this year.

I never thought I'd say it, but I'm completely content with my current vehicles. If I do buy a fourth car it would almost certainly be another older BMW or else a musclecar of some sort.

I'm really happy where I am as well, although shopping and trading are fun and I've done too much of it. So, I need to stop, other priorities. Now I just live vicariously through @Zee09 's vigorous trading. 🤣

Anyone else is welcome to jump in though!

I traded in my 2023 Grand Cherokee with 24k miles on a 2026 VW Tiguan SEL “Turbo”. Wife’s vehicle and she was wanting to downsize as the Jeep she said was too big. This has been a trend. Back in 2003 she had a Yukon Denali XL and after 8 years and 180k miles in that she started the downward size trend as the kids moved up and out.
The Tiguan is smaller than the Grand Cherokee but still has decent room inside, is definitely quicker and gets much better mpg. During the recent snowmagedon it handled as well as the jeep so color me impressed and it even scaled my MIL driveway when my BIL’s Wrangler wouldn’t.
Still learning the tech and adjusting to the wipers being on the left on the turn signal stalk as the gear selector has move to the right side of the steering wheel like in the ID4.
Also learning the voice controls and tested it out the other day by telling it my feet were cold to see if it would send all the heat to the floor but alas chat gtp took over and told me to keep my feet dry and suggested thicker socks and insulated shoes. Well I guess I have more work to do there. lol

Dented pillar and roof? I'm betting it's totaled.
Probably a $10k+ job.

Not many tech replace roofs and all the mechanicals that go with them, so an annoying job for most techs I've dealt with.

I'd make sure this goes to a Ford approved shop or the best shop in town. There will be a lot of SRS, ADAS, and electrical resets needed.

Replacing the roof will require removing the curtain airbags for weld zone safety and that dashboard is likely damaged too. Dash replacements are another PITA.\

Glad she made it out OK, that was a huge tree!

My neighbor had the last year new Ford Fusion Hybrid and it was 4 months old. She left the moonroof open one night and we got 3 inches of rain that night...
They totalled the car....true story and a bit shocking. She had State Farm insurance...

Headliner is backordered. Not sure how far out, but that could potentially be used as a reason for totaling it out if it is damaged. Many of headliners have plastic reinforcements spars, so if one of them is cracked, don't have them reinstall it.
