Ford and Toyota have had the best CVT transmissions for some time now. They are generally found on the hybrids. It's known as a eCVT. Honda has recently moved to eCVT technology. I think 2023 was when Honda changed over from the traditional CVT.
I believe the avatar law breaker @KCJeep is talking about a CRV in commercial use
I had a 2001 Corolla. Was my first new car after college. I got it bc I was putting 50k miles per year on it and that was a car built for that job.
I'm surprised how nice they are now.
Yeah, but the newer Corollas have a CVT, so there is that.
Not all CVT's are bad, but some can be extremely annoying to drive. Giant golf cart syndrome.
In hilly terrain they are the bombI prefer CVTs
Mitsubishi Sport iced up today
Totally defrosted in 3 minutes
Amazing![]()
Platinum protection and smooth as silk. High fives to the green jug. How's that QS doing @walterjay
Corollas have a 1st gear and are reliable. Honda CVT's are reliable. No first gear. The Corolla has the bad kind of CVT, just like the Civic and Accord.
I never disliked them. I like how smooth they can be. For hills they are great. If you know what they're about then it makes sense when you drive one. I prefer CVT's that don't program fake shifting.I prefer CVTs
