Lets talk about new vehicles

Brother in law has two of these back in Europe, one is the AWD with the 2L as above, the other is a 3l something Diesel inline six I believe. RWD.
The 2L is powerful enough but is still rough around the edges. The six is like two Bibendums doing yoga in a vat of warm butter while Enya is playing.

I have prostituted myself to the lowest bidder and did unspeakable things to obtain the ultimate
long range road cruiser. Obviously I have failed and need your help.

What I require............

* Great seats for a bad back and I do not like tiny bottoms in my rides but- never mind... ; )
* Roomy- I hate when they put you in a cubicle like a Ford Taurus
* No Fords- I hate their seats
* No pickups- AWD or FWD fine- CVT is okay
* Very quiet with minimal road noise
* If hwy mpg is below 25 mpg- no thanks- The more the better- MORE!
* Hybrid ok
* Don't need a prestige brand- been there before
* Reliable- Sometimes I will put 3-4K miles on in one week
* Car-SUV-CUV okay
* Budget.. $25K-$55K NEW!

Thanks!
Toyota Camry. Power adjustable Driver's seat. LE for more headroom and ride. Glad you dropped the weight.

Think this is in the spirit for new vehicles... The wife wanted to keep miles off her BMW so we took the old jalopy Escape down to see my 87 year old grandma this weekend. Took her out to Walmart and lunch.. she asks me what the temp outside it is. That was good for a laugh, grandma this car knows nothing! Doesn't even a good headunit now. You don't think how far we've come since only 2004!

For me personally, the most comfortable seat ( for a long road trip ) was my 09 Honda Odyssey. I drove 7 hours and felt like I could get back in and drive back home with NO issue. Most cars I'm done in 3 hours!
Honda always had a loud front end road noise, I have no idea about new Hondas of today but I loved that van, lots of room and great seat and upright high seating position, Gas MPG could have been better IMO.

Been thinking about getting back into a car again....maybe next year or around when I hit 60k..

I'm considering the following cars in no particular order:

VW Jetta GLI
VW Tiguan
Mazda CX-5
Mazda 3 Sedan Turbo
Tesla M3
Toyota Camry V6
Subaru Impreza RS

I stumbled upon this review last night and it just seems to me that the M3 checks all the boxes. This guy has an M2, Golf R and prefers the M3.

I saw one of the new Tiguans yesterday. Very sharp, the previous model was a little pedestrian looking.

I rode around today in my gas hog 35 mpg Mitsubishi Sport....compared to the 6500 mile 55 mpg Accord average it sours it unfortunately 😔
Pictures of the cheap interior minus my stainless shifter handle as noted by a poster here.
