Lets talk about new vehicles

I'd take the one with the best seating, and consider suspension and the roads where I'm going. If that's the accord, then I'd get the gas bonus, otherwise not.
That was quick.
Took a 20 mile run this morning.
The Accord suspension is coming around and at this point the bad things are disappearing.
So smooth and frugal it's the winner
Plus amazing trunk space and safety features. I filled up this morning and gas is down here
$2.85 for Sunoco and I see 734 mile range show on the dash.....

My neighbor had the last year made and left the moonroof open one night during a heavy rain and the car was just a year old.

The insurance company just totaled it....crazy..

At one point my immediate family had 4 Fusions. We are down to one now but they were/are great cars.

The remaining one is a 16 SE with the 2.5 I bought for my youngest daughter years ago. Now married it is still their only car and it’s been super reliable. About 125k last I checked and no interest in trading it.

Changing headlights in it is a pain though.

Oh do I remember the lights on our 2014 - fortunately I had watched a video and decided to do all the bulbs while “in surgery” 😷
We put 157k on it and it ran like new - great car !

Oddly, have never had to replace bulbs in any of our cars with flush headlamps (1998+), only side and rears. I’m dreading headlamps or turn signals in a xenon bulb’d car. Admittedly the DRL’s on a BMW E92 is very unpleasant, did both halogens at different times. Has to do with access and brittle wires. It’s good to hear the word “reliable” describing vehicles nowadays. The other extreme is “didn’t make it home from the dealer” on a new car 😡

Yesterday I ran up on a bad accident on my daily route. I had made a few phone calls to the state earlier because the trees really restricted the views at that intersection. Thankfully no serious injuries as it was two large trucks.

We were on a back road which is through vast wooded areas with no shoulders and the trees are right at the road and very few driveways in this area. We were all jammed up and it was relayed that it may be 45 minutes or so..

The Mitsubishi was a jewel as I made a 3 point turn in the middle of the traffic jam and actually got out of it and went another way...

No one else escaped....
I had a Bentley behind me and I know he wasn't going anywhere...

In August I will be purchasing either a Forester, CX50, or Rav4 Hybrid. The one we get will depend on which driver seats suit my wife best. Nothing else matters. I make the Broad Decisions on which models. But she gets the final choice. As it should be..its her car.

More 25 Accord badmouthing
Just facts...
I forget if it was 13 to 14 hours but the seats were great...never an issue. Infotainment great even though I hate that word...

Inexcusable..... I'm driving on a long trip and I get about a fourth way there and check my phone that's charging on the charge pad and it reads 40%....what?

I'm using Waze GPS. So I hook it into the USB ports up front using 3 different cords....zilch. I pull over and plug it into the rear USB....no power.

So the pad or the ports never worked as I never tried them...

In case I took the Mitsubishi I was going to use a radar detector and plug in GPS

Luckily I bought this last week and put it i to my glove box...it saved the day
More Accord criticism coming

I got the EX-L specifically for the 17 " tires as opposed to the 19 inches
Psi cold 33 front 32 rear
It was soo hot here last week my big tires on my (undisclosed) used vehicle (truck) went over max sidewall inflation pressure!
And cold inflatoion was set at about 67 degrees not STP of 59F - for summer.

Then I drove over a rough section of road (no potholes) and it pounded the front end out of alignment!

Heading to dealer tomorrow for a $199. FEA dang it all! Hope the E. Rack is o.k.!

So if you go over 35 psig HOT i would knock 'em back to smooth things out.

But don't like 'em Han Kooks ever!

From my test drives of new cars, the NEXEN N'Priz AH8 seem very good indeed. Maybe it was a model specific custom casing and compound?
Had found the Conti's on the Mav turbo pretty smooth but maybe not Iron wearing.

I will take some pics of the Jurassic showroom re-decoration if in the "mood"

Didn't you just but a Mazda CX30? Jim and I are having a hard time keeping up with you in our a new car count !

I am only at three new the past three months! The women at the town hall are looking at me real phunny.

Maybe it's my comb over FAIL. My excuse is I have been parting my hair in the same place since Brylcreem days of the early sixties.
I can't help it if the hair further up the crown went on permanent vacay!

How is the assisted living joint? - Arco

@ARCO: Yea the CX-30 has 5K miles. I went on a car buying rip in 2016-Chev Spark, 2018 Forester XT for the wife, 2019- Crosstrek, 2022-Forester, -2024Toyota GR86, March-CX-30. for 50 years I always kept a Car 10 years. I decided I would make up for that. Again, I am hoping to get rid of 2 cars and end up with one with no money put out.

The new joint is great. I mainly did it for the wife. No matter what..if one or both need long term care we will not be kicked to the curb when/if we run out of $$$
