If it works for you....Once your seated in it you don't see the all of the exterior so I'd be o.k. with it . Had a few HONDA Fits'. Kind of a smaller version of the Mazda 5 .
Not close but I had an AWD Element very handy but a gas hog....2007 versionHad a few smaller versions of the MAZDA 5 , the FORD Festiva ( 1.3 Ltr. ) which was the Mazda 2 in disguise . Had the 3 speed auto and a few with the 5 speed manual . Fit a new love seat in it thanks to the rear seat that folded up against the back of the front seats .

I had several in the 80s and 90s and proved to be very reliable but like most early Japanese vehicles...thin on the sheet metal and early on thin paint too. Rust proofing came much laterOne of the Altimas sounds like a washing machine with an uneven load going by. Not surprising it has lived much of it's life with a fake temp tag and now sports the front plate off the other partly wrecked Camry they also own, so probably not much caretaking going on.
The other four are long time owners (6 to 8 years) and seem to be good cars for them.
I have heard Nissans are a real pain to work on and dealerships are not great either, so there's that.
