Lets talk about new vehicles

I had a nice drive today without crazy tailgaters and people pulling out in front of me. Passed several Amish buggies and was on Route 472 in Pennsylvania going to Baron road to Maryland. I had 9 stop signs and one traffic circle...

The trip was about 10 miles.
2025 Accord Hybrid.....

I really want a hybrid more than ever! I would want the new Prius though, the new design looks amazing and I still believe it has the potential for the highest MPG of any of the hybrids out there today

I like the Prius but supply was limited in my area.. the Accord is actually doing great at under 800 miles....regardless I expect a real break in at 3 to 4k miles like my Mitsubishi....common sense

Are you drafting the Amish Buggy's?

Most of my trip was on fresh Tar and chip roads....they say that's the correct term... I say tar and cinder as Pennsylvania is doing that everywhere right now. I guess as an economy maneuver.

But it is rough and loud and a mpg killer... I can see low 120 mpgs if I can avoid those back roads and it had some steep hills as well..

I may try a max run soon.

I find that going for maximum MPG is almost as much fun as going for the best 0-60 in a fast car! My best 0-60 in the Corvette is 3.8 seconds and the best MPG I have gotten in the Civic is in the high 60s. With the CVT, it keeps the engine RPM quite low, so if I’m on a road where I can do a steady 35 MPH then the RPM is about 1200 and that’s the sweet spot for MPG. At highway speeds it’s not as good, as that’s when the RPM is 1700+

Don't know if you saw this but it came out yesterday about the 2026 CX-5.....
I'm watching it now..

If I were to go the smaller suv route I would have to wait till later this year and check out the Tiguan Turbo. On this refresh the interior is very nice and the “turbo” option gives serious hp upgrade which the Tiguan has needed for years.

Same here as I looked at them all. The Taos is a girly machine with its narrow seats and I'd look at a Tiguan too. I was in the market for an Atlas but held out too long and missed the big discount.

That said VW is on my 💩 list right now with my last spark plug fiasco.. You mean if my car is not drivable after say 5k miles because of their crappy spark plugs the warranty won't cover it? That to me is a joke... my closest dealership changed hands to a bunch of morons...... soured me on VW for a bit.

That can be very dangerous 😳
Oh I know, plenty of Amish just to the North of me.

What you have to watch out for is bass boats off the trailer, in the right hand lane of I-35 just after the crest of a hill going 75 mph. Happened yesterday, just north of Kearney MO by the Mr. Dells Hashbrowns plant, I managed to squeeze thru between it and the Hy-Vee semi heading back to Des Moines. Yikes that was close. A couple miles up the road were the ratcheting tie downs on the shoulder.

Some days, The Lord is with you!
