Lets talk about new vehicles

I guess VW 508 spec oil might be the secret here???

The Maverick made me cheap
50 to 60+ mpg all day
The Honda gets the same at $8k more....

The Mitsubishi at low 30s comes off as a gas hog... I just drove it now and on the road in actual use it's more sprightly than the Accord.
0 to 60 times don't show that but that's the way it drives....weird huh

LIQUI MOLY MoS2 FTW! **

- Overheard at the Sinclair Full Service Station

(attendant) "Sir you need an oil change pronto!"
(Jim) "I just changed it yesterday!"
(attendant) "With what? That ARCO Graphite garbage?!"
(Jim) "Just clean the windscreen, pump jockey! and no leering at the bountiful GF!"

I used a lot of graphite oil in my VW bug. Dropped a valve at 80K. I wonder if the graphite didn't partially plug the oil cooling tower.

Hit the 600 miles break in this morning and my average overall is 58 mpg down a hair as I have been juicing it a bit.... (Accord)

The Mitsubishi didn't get top mpg until after 4K miles... so 600 miles is just the manual suggestion

Give me a cooled steering wheel over a heated one.
Leather wrapped steering wheels scold you in the 100 F heat...

You might try a windshield sunshade. I used one in my Volvo (no tint, black leather) but my Accord seems to have a much more effective A/C. But it's also tinted pretty dark in the back. So I haven't bothered. I also like to double-click the unlock for a window rolldown before I get to the car.

I have thought about splurging for the heated steering wheel (only a dealer-installed option for 10th gen I believe), but it's a bit pricey for my high-miler.

I also leave my A/C on auto and I think it's just fine! I'm not using ECON mode, though.

Nah, my $20K dollars are going to look like a new BMW motorcycle in Sept. Less than that after trade. It's a interesting concept vehicle. A bit too Spartan for my tastes. You know I'm a Luxury Package sort of guy when it comes to small trucks.
