A friend sent me a post from a guy on a truck forum.

This young guy said that those who drive cars don't understand how hard it is to stop a big truck and car drivers do stupid things that make it hard for guys like me to stop.

I was out this afternoon in the Ford Maverick Stratofortress (long range, heavy payload)
And had a record 4 hybrid encounters and they all waved like a Fram EG oil filter...

I’ve had the Mustang a year as of today. Someday I’ll be able to move up to a Maverick but for now I will just have to make do.

Seriously I am seeing more Mavericks than ever, usually 2 or 3 a day in my commute.

I really don't think Ford wants to make them.
And if it ain't a hybrid it ain't a Maverick.
I hit 3500 miles on mine and it really smoothed up in all respects.

On my way home yesterday I saw this in Oxford PA. Pictures aren't great but I couldn't get my own as you couldn't stop.

I'm surprised. There seems to be a lot of demand from what I've heard. I don't think I've ever seen one on my local lot here so I figured they either couldn't get them or they're sold when they do show up.

Ford as usual never thinks things through.
Even making the hybrid now a $1500 option they still don't want to deliver.. they make more money on the expensive vehicles..and I think they just don't want to step it up. A real shame.

Vehicle margins do increase as the price goes up and they make so much off of full size trucks anyway. What I find interesting is how few current gen Ford SUVs and crossovers I see outside of the budget friendly Escape. The vast majority of new Fords here are F150s and F250s. I guess it's hard to want to sell a proper value for money option when $50k-$80k vehicles fly off the lot.

A guy I work with just took delivery of his special order F350. Whether it's true or not he claimed all in was $119k. That's only $9k less than I paid for my house 8 years ago.

With the great mpg you are getting I suppose the tea costs more than the fuel.

Maybe another reason may be the problems they are still having, even figuring out what the heck is wrong with some of this stuff on the early production vehicles. Why produce more problem vehicles to fix, when there is no fix.

My 2022 has been very reliable till last Friday. Left the Wayside Waifs adoption center on electric and the first two or three blocks also on electric. Gave it gas to go up a hill ahead and NOTHING. Stayed in D . Shut the vehicle off, waited as long as traffic would allow (30 sec) and thankfully it got goin again without CEL lights on the dash. No problems since.

Yesterday gas went to $3.59 and I rode by Sunoco and it was still cash at $3.35 I zipped in $15
as that is all I could get in...lol
My buddy on the phone from TN laughed but all people old and young converged on the gas pumps.
That station was packed.... When I left, I saw that tow truck towing another truck get pushed down the tracks...

They have a new recall on that I saw, and I got my first ever for that as well.
