Lets talk about new vehicles

Another new vehicle beef
If they are asking MSRP let alone $3K to $10K over, don't you think
they owe it to us for a spectacular detail job???
Honestly the best detail job I ever had was on a 1986 Acura Integra
Inside and out, it was absolutely flawless.

Since then nothing good
VW did nothing on this new car.

My wife only Paid 26K for a brandy new Subaru Outback a few months ago. AWD, Eyesight.
Gigantic cargo space. We do need the AWD, living on top of the bunny slope.
But the engine sounds like somebody threw a box of 1/4-20 nuts and bolts down the oil fill.

Over 27 K is no man's land for me unless its a super performance car like Camaro LT-1 or SS 1LE.
Or BMW M2 stick.
I can be comforted and entertained cheaply. At least till midnight.
Slim pickin's out there. I think Z did reasonably well.

Not in this economy where demand far exceeds supply. If you don't buy it "as is," then a dozen other people will. Dealers don't feel the need to put in more effort than is required to sell the vehicle.

It's the same thing with homes in most places. Sellers don't bother fixing up their homes prior to the sale because they receive so many offers that they know the home will sell anyway.

Now VW is different.
I watched their website for 6 months. Their sales were dismal.
Cars sat forever
My Arteon was on the showroom floor. Just being lazy.
But i get your point on hot brands but it is still part of the delivery process.

Yeah I like cheap too.
We usually pick the same types of vehicles.
I always wanted a VW but would bail.
I would have been happy with a Passat but feared since 2022 was the last year the resale value would drop like a rock. I had that happen on a Olds.
Was looking at Subaru but my dealer just stinks and a dealer 40 miles away was adding $3k to the sticker and so I bailed

My local VW dealer has barely any inventory right now.

Driving through the nearby VW, MB, Porsche, Audi dealerships which are right next to each other - it's like a ghost town.

never going to get that when the hired detailer takes water bong hits every 3 hours on the job....obviously I'm implying it's a mindless low paying job where a doctorate degree is not needed.....

I forbid the piece rate heathen from touching my new vehicles whenever possible. I don't need some doofis scratching everything on his way to a $15 pay day.

You're costing me $$$$
My biggest issue is i haven't had a car in years. A Cmax is like a Escape so it sits higher

All the young girls I romance at the drive thrus are now looking down at my cleavage...it is a bit of an issue for me as I feel so cheap...

That is a negative to me...
Cup size or it doesn't happen.

Of course you literally half F-150's and Broncos sitting in gravel lots or adjacent to quarries for a better part of a year-what kind of contaminants do you think will be on the parts service?

You don't want a big Subaru, the 2.5 litre 4 engine is STILL garbage. Going by my not so relevant revelvant ss= 1.
It does get good fuel mileage though, somehow.
Bigest gripe, they cheapened their interior materials and door switchgear and plates. My used 2011 was fantastic, but then new one looks like it was a bad clone with fly DNA in the mix. the passenger seat gets painfull after just and hour sit time. Maybe it's my wifes's driving? I am large though.

Don't look for reason to question your new purchase, look at the many reasons for love in this financially arranged marriage.

Wait. I thought he bought a Artion? As for the rest of the soap opera I’ll leave that for others.

Arco was replying to an older message where Subaru was the conversation.
Arteon it is for me.

I really like the Arteon..
It is very comfortable and for me that has been a big issue.

This is an excellent cruiser and the mpg is stellar.

Nothing is perfect but for the money this is a solid ride. Very happy with it but VW is a new game for me. My first one.
