Lets talk about new vehicles

PDI is really not done very well. The best I have seen in recent years is My Hyundai dealer.
Maybe the best I will ever experience is the 2007 335 delivered Dec 2006. Vehicle was ordered. I declined to pick it up on Friday, as it was going to rain. Was called late Thu afternoon.

They told me ok we’ll see you Saturday. But the car is going to have 1 more mile, is that ok? We have to drive to our garage at the Mini dealer. When you take delivery, it will have 4 miles. It has 3 now. Is that ok?

For a mere $44k, I was treated like I was somebody. 😂

You don’t want to know about the 2025, also ordered. 😆

The wealth 💪

When Acura first came out, the older brother of a classmate was a service manager. He showed us the first Legend, and we were really impressed.
I had a 91 legend 5 spd...first redesign
86 the first Integra and a 93 GSR which drove me nuts

The 91 shifter would kick out of gear when you hit a hill, they called me a liar. They ended up eating that when corporate slapped them 😆

My favorite was my Vigor loaner
Zippy....
..

My 2018 Passat GT was essentially flawless, but it was literally sitting on the showroom floor so.....

Mustang was missing its front license plate bracket, but I wasn't going to use it anyway... I roll dirty like @Zee09.

Same with my Arty...
That said every free oil change they cranked up the psi on the tires 10 over...thought they were 20s and they were 18s...I told them and they still did it...that dealership went down after the new butchers took it over

I lowered the tire pressures to the recommended PSI. It does ride some better. However, the Michelin Primacy Touring A/S aren't that great. We will have to live with them until they are worn out. If the wet traction is poor, they will be replaced sooner.

On new cars, is paint not as good as it once was, with quality and defects?
It depends on the car. With my 2018 Corvette, I had to wait a few extra weeks for my order because they were opening up a new paint facility at the factory. The paint quality of my Corvette is noticeably better than the previous ones from the old facility. No more orange peel like the 2014-2017s often had.

Honda used to use them on everything.

It is interesting how a tire can do well on on car and poorly on another. I have seen it. My 23 Tucson came through with those Michelins and they performed exceptionally well wet and dry.

I'm pretty sensitive to how tires perform. The Primacy Tour A/S are Low Rolling Resistance tires. That in itself explains a lot. Looking at the tires, they have a small contact patch. When the time comes, I will be looking for something better. Eco focused tires won't be on the list.

My C43 was delivered in immaculate condition- especially impressive considering that it was a 2 year old CPO. The Sahara 4xe was also very clean when I picked it up also a 2 year old car.
As I've mentioned previously, I am perfectly content with the current fleet and have no plans to replace any of them for several years.
