Lets talk about new vehicles

I spent 3 hrs at the VW dealership and 75 mile round trip for a warranty issue which wasn't fixed several months ago.

Five miles after the repair it started up with the same behavior. I ruined a day and I'm busy and I guess tomorrow I have to waste another day because Thursday I have minor medical issues to deal with.

While I was waiting they sent me a movie of what they did although it didn't fix the issue... during my stay they offered other goodies prematurely of course.....
4 plugs installed only $233.00 plus tax and a big bottle of injector cleaner for only $36.... of course I declined these fabulous offers... most likely mistakenly so.....

I counted six in the sales force but I noticed literally over a hundred employees and most just walked around the facility all day. I saw 4 young guys wheel a small cart to the trash receptacle.

People just aimlessly walking around acting like they had someplace to go although they walked the same trails every 5 minutes...

It was never ending. Now you know why injector cleaner is pushed for only $36...

I bought my car there but it changed hands a few weeks later...

Watching this fiasco made me feel exhausted like working on the chain gang...

They texted me 5 times during my stay to buy my car. I wasn't interested but now I'm thinking about it after this cluster you know what....

Even swap for that GTI? 😎
That's why I like my Mitsubishi Sport. I have complete confidence working on it and driving it at any distance and 5 of them have proven this to me and the 24 model is the best of the bunch....

When you are in the middle of nowhere you don't need to worry about anything but getting home.

I messed up the prices a bit but here you go.

No GTI for me
Imagine getting that and a Stromboli the same day?
I need to unload instead of buy.

I thought you might flip into it with the Arteon. Sounds like ownership may have gone the wrong direction as far as customer experience goes. 😕

Sleazy pushy dealerships are disgusting. You feel like you need a shower after you get out of there.

I'm sitting here now...
They were very sad to see me...
Long haul....Jimmy sad..

That stupid piano black all over the console already looks terrible. Some day manufacturers will learn.
They never cleaned it at all...
Mine after nearly 5 years looks new because I keep a MF cloth next to it but yeah that looks really dirty

VW Kool-aid
I know dealers have tremendous overhead and my post here shows how folks with very little are thrilled at the dealership getting ripped for maintenance.

A young nurse with a 5 year old Jetta was back like me for two days in a row.. she got soaked $4500 for maintenance and returned the next day with a fuel leak and she told me she had to borrow $1k from her mother to pay for it but she loves her Jetta.. She said nobody is perfect on the bad work...

An older lady who was nuts kept fighting for new spark plugs for $203 on her vehicle while she only had 22k miles on it...
The service guy kept telling her it wasn't needed and it went on for 15 minutes and the service guy told her very terse like, okay we'll sell you anything you want... it got very heated..

Another young pregnant lady came in wanting her Atlas serviced at $3k and she was thrilled ...these people acted like they were getting service for premium exotics and getting ripped off was a blessing...

Everytime I go there I see the same thing. Most don't even ask for prices...more soon

When I got home I went through the Carvana ordeal and as usual the dealer in my mind offered $1k under which wasn't bad and I rated my car slightly lower on Carvana and they came back with a $3800 more offer and drama free pickup ....

I've always have had the best sales with Carvana. They usually send a lady via Uber to pick it up...

Pass on the golf; A Horse of a Different Colour is still a horse.

A Boston Toyota dealer offered me 21K on my new 2025 Impreza wagon AWD CVT with eyesight in trade for a 2025 Silver GR86 MT6 base with 935- bucks off sticker. Then as I was walking they chimed in another $500 off ... if I "buy it today".

Might wait for tariff drama to kick in and then do the carvana thing. Are Japanese import cars going to get hit?
I can't seem to find a current chart. It's all in flux.
I think flux is the word ...
