Lets talk about new vehicles

So there is a Mustang shortage? What? There are only two Ecoboost actually on the lot in the entire metro area, but with suspiciously high asking prices. o_O

Suspecting some ADM is in play here and the reason those two are still available.

I noticed that here today as well. I looked earlier. When I was shopping they were dealing hard...geez

I just called to confirm availability for a test drive. Salesman said Ford already cut 23 Mustang production in anticipation of the all new 24 coming out. I don’t know if that’s true but I sure am not seeing cars. Plenty of GTs though. 😳

“It’s not my fault honey, they were out of EcoBoosts!” 🤣

😲 Wow.
I call them EgoBoast... 😂

Well I did drive the Mustang Ecoboost Premium today, it had a number of option packages that pushed it even higher than I would be willing to spend but I got a crack at the basic car. I did like it. I could see way better than I expected, the seats were good (that's a biggie) I liked the layout of the interior, and had a lot of neat options like oil and tranny temp gauges and the like. Drove pretty good, was quick enough to be fun but just short of actually fast, and when putting around it was very docile and livable. Steering was firmer than I was used to but found out later it was adjustable.

Ride was choppier than I'd hoped but it was on 20's (one of the options I don't want), was a bit noisier than I'd like but the sound was not overly obnoxious, not sure how I'd feel about that in 10k or so.

Then I drove home in my comparatively smooth driving quiet Jetta. Hmmmm..... definitely need to drive an Arteon. And a V8 Mustang.

😲😲😲 WOW
Yeah no 20s or 19s for Jimmy or Timmy...Ford now loads everything up because of the chips...we all know

At least you got to test it out.
I think you are a few years too late for the deals but you know that...great review...

I would guess the Jetta is more comfortable???

Arteon next....

I was in the Arty today and I upped the 4 banger to legendary status. Smooth as the best of the best be it a V6 or A V8... I had so many vehicles in my life I know....

@walterjay probably knows these places.. Route 273 and 272 at the Calvert light I punch it daily and not what you think .just 3500 rpm and it will exhilarate you . My RT Challenger never did ..
Or on 272 at Jimmy's Market going to MD. Line.

And with VW you get better mpgs if you get one it some..
The engine never makes a off or bad sound... Super smooth..
The 8 spd trans is just as slick

For some sick reason I always wondered how that 3.9 L V8 Lincoln motor would work in a mustangs.

In my LS V8 it wasn't spectacular and it could have been tuned up for the stang. I will say it made great sounds

I had 19s on the Passat GT they were fine but also on a wonderful car. No interest in 20s and even the Arty guys on 20s bemoan the ride and constant blowouts. No thanks.

The 8 speed is insanely smooth but you should try a DSG sometime. VW knows something about those too. Had one in the GT and absolutely loved it, they take a bit to get used to though.

I wouldn’t call the 4 banger in the Mustang legendary or even great but it was good. I understand the end goal of a Mustang is completely different than what I’m accustomed to. It needed just a little more power but I also understand there needs to be a decent gap between the EcoBoost and GT, they need to appeal to different buyers.

Doesn’t look like I will be getting any deal on a Mustang like you said and I’m 18 months from buying anyway.

I’m not familiar with the Lincoln 3.9. Previously non-GT Mustangs had a V6 not sure which one.

Maybe look for a 1 or 2 year old low miles used one after the 2024 7th Gen Mustang comes out. There will be guys wanting the new Gen and trading in their 6th Gen Stangs.

Buick made the new Encore GX a cutesy machine following the driving egg concept...me no likey
