Nope, not a hyeana of that sort, a distant relative, though much smaller and much less nasty.
The second was a strange beast found on a roadside in...Maine? or somewhere. There was a thread about him. I don't know what "they" ever determined he was. To me it looks like some kind of hybrid Chow dog.
