Leave the oven door open after use in winter?

To help heat the house, or doesn't it matter? Keeping it closed and the heat is still contained in the house but released slower, vs. having it open and the heat is released faster. Logic suggests better to leave open, but I'm not a thermodynamics engineer.

I used to do the same thing, but realized that having the oven on only warms up the room closest to the oven. It still using gas if you do it for an hour or more, so why not just turn the heat on and warm the entire house?.,,

I assumed he was talking about after use and the oven turned off . Just taking advantage of the residual heat .

Inside wall probably makes no difference assuming no loss through floor. Outside wall? Maybe helps.

Why? I take the food out after use.

I used to leave it open but now whichever way. Doesn't matter unless you want to warm the room right away.

Either way nothing is going to waste except if leaving the oven open warms a small home or apartment higher than the thermostat setting, then leaving it open is wasting heat so you would be better off with a slow release.

I leave my oven door slightly ajar after use for two reasons, warm up the room, and help the electronic timer cool down.

To many curious cats in the house to leave it open, besides it gets hot in the kitchen while the oven is in use, better to let it slowly release.

Unless heat is lost to the vast outside world as I stated.......(thinking of ST energy transfer to inside)

It does not matter. Thermal insulation (in the oven door) does not destroy heat, it only slows down its transfer. The same amount of leftover heat in the oven will end up in the house, it is just a question of how fast.
