Lawn mower break in oil change?

No, Amazon. Mower is fine though not what I ordered. Lesson is never, ever buy anything expensive and heavy from Amazon.
Maybe you can tell them you didn't get what you ordered and it will be free to keep? I hear this all the time from guys on here.

Was it the non- self propelled LM2101 21-Inch model for $349. - 19% off right now?
Not wild about the Hitachi power tools color scheme but ... cool !

Amazon - can't see the rain forest for the lack of trees.

I ordered a 43 gallon blader water tank form Amazon and it had a cracked weld in it. They refunded the money and said keep it.

It was last year. Ordered one with a steel deck but one with a composite deck arrived. OTOH, the one shipped was a level up from what I ordered having 2 blades and a higher MSRP. Amazon did not fulfill this order, it was only the middle man, complicating things. At the end of the day I kept the mower and got $50 for my trouble.

I should amend my nevers: never buy anything heavy and expensive through Amazon, ESPECIALLY if they aren’t the actual seller.

Support your local brick and mortar whenever possible - they do more for the community than just "sell things". There are often many "unexpected" projects when you need stuff right now. It was a very sad day when the local little hardware store closed in town when Lowe's came in down the highway and killed them. Now you got Amazon doing the same thing to Lowe's and HD. But they are admittedly a bigger bug to squash.

What will you do when there is no place to go 15 mins down the road?

I needed a capacitor for my AC compressor - it was late Friday afternoon.

The place close to my home didn't have one - they could order it and have it in a "few days" - it was $89 + tax

I found one that was half way across Houston - an hour drive each way - they closed in 30 minutes - I could pick it up Monday - in stock $129 + tax.

I did a search and Amazon had one - $25+tax delivered by 10:00 AM Saturday - the next day -

Now you tell me what you would do in this case.

I ordered from Amazon - took me 15 minutes to swap it out - then I ordered a spare FROM AMAZON.

I try to go to local then online supply houses, but if Amazon is the most efficient way go for it.

That why it's good to have many viable brick and mortar for emergency and everyday needs.

I don't like the Monopoly model - Except for the Bell System decades ago :)

And big box stores are nest on my list of sociatal ruiners.

rant over. Of course, DO what works for you - nobody on this forum dictates to me, and vice versa :)
