Laundry Fragrance

That's got to be my ultimate pet peeve: laundry fragrance. I can't for the life of me understand why people want perfume in their clothes. And it's not even a pleasant fragrance either; quiet the contrary actually. I don't know what smells worse: second hand cigarette smoke, or laundry fragrance getting pumped out the dryer vent and wafting all over the neighborhood. When you go to buy new clothes, do they smell like Tide/Cheer? The answer is no -- new clothes smell like new clothes and you can't get that new smell out of a Tide bottle. Why people go and buy that stuff is beyond me.

My whole house is Hypoallergenic. I buy all my products fragrance-free. I buy my laundry detergent fragrance-free, fabric softener fragrance-free, bath soap fragrance-free, shampoo fragrance-free, hand soap fragrance-free, skin lotion fragrance-free, deodorant fragrance-free, dish soap fragrance-free, automatic dishwasher detergent fragrance-free, and shaving cream fragrance-free.

Even the soap box I'm standing on right now while I'm ranting and raving is fragrance-free.

I like the smell of Woolite. VERY light smell.

What brands do you buy Merk? Shampoo/conditioner/soap/laundry detergent.
 
I use soaps with fragrance to wash my fishing clothes when I get back from a fishing trip to kill the smell of fish, etc. I then wash them with my wifes fragrance free soap on a quick cycle and let them air out. That keeps them from stinking up other clothes and the house.
 
I'm a Grocery Cashier, there have been times when i started a(fully involuntary) sneezing fit merely from someone placing a box of dryer sheets on to the conveyor. I couldn't even walk down the laundry aisle without sneezing, but either my current meds work better, or they've toned down the scents, or we are carrying more scent free options. one of those.

Lol LT4 Vette you thought Merkava was married? Even I knew he wasn't, but the way I knew is because (no offense Merk) he's too big of a pain in the a-ss LOL jk.
 
I'll take the fresh smelling fragrance of laundry over second hand smoke stench any day.
I have never had to step back away from someone wearing clean smelling clothes, but I have and almost wretched at people who stink of second hand smoke. The worst is when that second hand smoke is combined with body odor, yummy!!!

I'm thinking you guys wouldn't like taking a ride with me in either the ever faithful "Bluesmobile" or "Thunder the Wonder Pig."

First of all, I am a heavy smoker, (3 packs a day).

Secondly, before the empty soap bottle hits the recycle bin, I toss it in the back seat of the car with the cap removed - free air freshener. I like it. My favorite is "Cascade Lemon Fresh," (I know, it's dishwasher soap), but it smells a whole lot better than I do after a long day on the farm.

add in stale Urine, and i've had a few of them as customers...
even had one guy that had that odor, but also left an odor trail that lingered...

had a woman a couple weeks back, smelled SOOO strongly of smoke, the Bills she Pulled out of her purse were...Odorus enough, I could smell them every time the drawer opened for the next few hrs.
 
I knew I liked Merkava. This issue of clean and fresh supposedly equaling cloyingly strong artificial/chemical perfume scents in laundry detergent and shampoos drives me crazy.

I'm probably allergic to these chemical ingredients because I usually get a pretty severe headache and feel sick after being exposed to these scents for a long period of time.

I use Johnson's Baby Shampoo, and Tide Free and Clear for the laundry ....and boy do you pay a premium for buying a product that is FREE of all the chemical [censored].

That kind've shampoo is supposed to be very good for your hair. Alot of stylists recommend it.
 
Dr Bronner's for EVERYTHING-

Flagrance free - or natural peppermint.

$10-14 for a bottle that last me all year- and you can use it for a bunch of other things (we make our own spray cleaner and laundry soap too)

Its old school Castile soap.
 
I like the light smell of clothes washed with Omo or Persil. Not like Tide which is lots of weight with not much substance.
