Does it cross your mind it's a generic PDS?

Believe NOACk is limited with SN Plus anyway, no?

No, I believe it didn't change from the <15. I think d1g2 is like A5 at <13.

I just purchased 2 of their oil change specials of 5w30 for $21.98 along with the Platinum oil filter, even at Walmart unless it's Super Tech oil you're going to spend that much on just the oil and Napa is giving you an excellent filter to use.

I'm happy to be trying this out in my vehicles.

I am running Synthetic Blend 5w20 Napa in Grand Caravan. First oil change and at 4200 miles it is black but no oil usage as orginal fill was at 4500 which also was black but had lost a quart. I can honestly say it has held up well as lots of low speed, idling, short trips, long trips, as well as wide open throttle a couple of times. Now that it is broke in I will go with a Midgrade fuel since I am running econ button which lowers rpm under 45 mph. Would not have any reservations about running Napa oil if on sale. I did use Napa gold filter.

Thanks for the clarification.

I pulled the trigger on 10 quarts for one filter change (2x oil changes). I'm running 5w-20 in the summer when I do the change in the next few week, then will run 0w-20 come the subsequent change. Both Napa syn. Don't think our driving style or use in a van will be a challenge.

Me too. I know the XP/platinum doesn't get much love here, but if the efficiency design is similar to the Honda OE filter, which I believe it is, I'm happy.

I prefer the Gold over the Platinum myself but that $5 deal is hard to pass up so I will be getting a Platinum for my wife's BMW (regular price for her car is $18.99 so that's a HUGE difference!) and one for my Honda too. I'm going to stick with the Gold in my Corvette though (and it'll only cost me $6 anyways because I get 20% off by purchasing 3 items at once)

I'm still very puzzled as to how the fully synthetic media of the XP/Platinum has poorer filtering performance compared to the blended media of the Wix/Gold. Did they design it that way on purpose and if so, why? Every other fully synthetic media filter that I know of has much better filtering performance.

Seriously, how many here really expected the exact formula in both brands - yet NAPA costing so much less?
If you were, get a check of business reality please.

Ikea rebrands the high end Panasonic Eneloop rechargeable batteries (LADDA) for almost half the cost. Sometimes people will just pay for the name.

Just bought these ladda batteries the other day and they're anything but "high end", pure junk

I've interpreted the relationship between Napa oil and Valvoline oil to be similar to the one between Pennzoil and Quaker state. Slight differences in base oil and additives, and you'd never know the difference if you weren't looking at the jug you pour it from.

Good analogy
