Prep all, Adams Ceramic coating, Jescar's Power Lock + , Collinite 845
So if you were to buy something, would it be Fireball Duke? Not much has changed really. I've kind of reached peak saturation point with detailing products. Can Coat wore off on the truck. Held up for about a year with very good hydrophobics. I've been using Wet Coat to carry me over until I can re-polish/coat again. Wet Coat or any of the spray/rinse sealants are just a quick way to help dry the car. Not much protection.
If you're going to put the work in to prep the paint via polishing, then I'd recommend throwing a coating on being they're pretty easy to apply. (Can Coat/Mohs/Cerakote etc...many good ones).
I personally like super hydrophobic products that bead exceptionally well. I just find it easier to air dry the car after washing which is my preferred method.
Some notable spray on sealants of late:
Fireball Pirouette
Fireball Duke Graphene Spray Wax
Collinite Beadcoat.
Both of the above are really good and Andreas of The Detailing School (YT Channel) in Germany says Fireball Duke is the best sealant he's ever used.
Well Duke is great if you like super hydrophobic products. All of the spray sealants last anywhere from 1-6 months. Griot's 3 in 1 is quite durable but lacks the hydrophobic/self cleaning properties. So if you were to buy something, would it be Fireball Duke?
I found some old turtle wax ICE in my basement, seems to work ok. Will Duke be that much better?
Yeah I’m just looking for best cost/performance for sars left outside to bead/shed rain and fallout. So super hydrophobic is probably the best value for me.Well Duke is great if you like super hydrophobic products. All of the spray sealants last anywhere from 1-6 months. I think most detailing products are extremely overrated. It really comes down to what you like using, the look and what your expectations are. Coatings have become easier and easier to apply. I like Gyeon Mohs for DIY. Seems to hold up pretty well (1-3 years outside).
If you just apply something after every other wash or so then really any of these sealants will work. Collinite Beadcoat is a decent sealant.
UK 3.0 is still a very durable DIY coating. Just a bit more finicky to apply than some of the new ones.
If you're going to polish, I'd grab Can Coat or Mohs but I could also recommend 50 other coatings. If you're just looking for a sealant get Griot's 3 in 1. Subpar hydrophobics but good enough for most people. Holds up well if properly prepped.Yeah I’m just looking for best cost/performance for sars left outside to bead/shed rain and fallout. Does any other one beat Duke?
