I've not been to Tunica in probably 15 years now but I hear it's barely a shadow of what it was in the mid-2000's.Oh man. Take the extra hour and hit Biloxi instead.

I wasn't crazy about Henderson. We went to Sunset Station. Seems more hectic around there compared to the Summerlin side of town.Or Henderson and Lake Las Vegas area. Give it time though as housing is ridiculously expensive. Ever consider Reno?
We've accumulated about $1500 in comps through gambling and credit use. Not many buffets left in Vegas. Maybe 2 or 3.My wife likes to play the slots so we usually got comped.
Sure, something quick. But here I had like 20+ people. I was at the grill. Flipping under roof with Glenfiddich wasn’t a problem. Doing that in that God awful humidity is really pushing it.Oh, I BBQ year round - but only “low and slow” in the summer …
(Low maintenance meats) …
It does make huge difference. I was recently there and doing BBQ one day. 104f, but the grill is under the roof. No problems.
When I lived in Alabama, I would not do BBQ between May and September if someone paid me.
Because it is cheaper to fly to Las Vegas than to fly to Kuwait? Why would anyone go to Vegas in the summer???
That being said, there is nothing that would make me live there permanently.I'll take 110° in the Mojave desert before I take 90° in Georgia again.
That’s funny,Vegas used to be ultra cheap - including the flights. Years ago I went many times for trade shows for work. I haven’t been in at least 15 years, which is probably when it became not cheap.
Vegas used to draw a lot of convention crowds. But conventions have been dropping off for years, and a lot of cities compete for what is left.
Then they re-invented themselves as more entertainment but there is way more competition for that these days. Lots more Places to gamble also for those so inclined.
Used to be about cheap drinking too but drinking has been in decline for about the same time.
Who wants to stay in a fancy hotel in the middle of nowhere? There is no beach or city or whatever. It’s all completely contrived.
The last 13 years I worked, I ran a billet reheat furnace in a steel mill, just west of Indianapolis, Indiana. The ambient conditions outside my (air conditioned) control room generally ran about 130°F in warmer months. Living here in Las Vegas just feels....normal.I'll take 110° in the Mojave desert before I take 90° in Georgia again.
That's correct.I've not been to Tunica in probably 15 years now but I hear it's barely a shadow of what it was in the mid-2000's.
Ever been to Reno?Las Vegas is the canary in the coal mine for an economic downturn. When money gets tight, weekend trips are the first thing that get cut.
I actually went once like 25 years ago. Another business thing. Is it even a thing anymore?Ever been to Reno?![]()
At sundown!120°F in the shade!
Yes, it is what it is... I go for the Air Races every few years, haven't really wandered around the town beyond a cool little jazz club that's been gone a while.I actually went once like 25 years ago. Another business thing. Is it even a thing anymore?

It’s got to be FridayShot a man there once. Just to watch him die. When I hear that whistle blowing, hang my head and cry.![]()
