Lake speed Jr inside Valvoline R&D lab to investigate their restore and protect

The funny thing is the only way most are going to ever know if it works is if their oil consumption goes down, or if they had varnish etc. you can see that it removed. Otherwise you won't really know how much it cleaned the pistons LOL.

If it works as advertised, then in theory your pistons should always stay factory clean at normal OCI.
Exactly! My new to me 2019 Chevy 4.3 DI runs and drives great but at 69,000 miles I’m hoping that ( if the pistons are nasty ) this new oil might help clean things up and at $30 for a 5 qt jug, I don’t have a problem with using it for multiple OCI’s. Plus, I’ve used Valvoline for years and my old Avalanche had 248,000 miles when I sold it last week and was running great.

There is a bonus quart in jug for said $30 😉

Paint on a cylinder head?
This is an interesting development. Restore and protect removes paint? Should it be there?

Silver paint on the inside of the cylinder head???

Guess the shop didn’t want to properly clean it. Just paint over it so it looks clean.😂 Not a good practice. I suspect the paint would come off regardless of oil type.
