My local Costco marked down/cleared out the old Warren Distribution stuff and stated stocking this. Kirkland branded Delo?

Although I use Rotella 5w40 T6, year round in my 2011 3500, if I were using 15w40, I wouldn't have any issues using the Kirkland 15w40. It's also interesting that Kirkland now is using Chevron for it's supplier. I've used Chevron 15w40 when I owned my 2002 F350 7.3 Power Stroke, good oil.

Yeah, says "manufactured & packaged by Chevron". $12.66 a gallon isn't a bad buy at all if you can buy it in 3 gallon boxes. I need x4 gallons & no Cosco membership. Oh well.

You might have a friend close to you with a membership. Hand him your credit card and buy him a pizza/hot dog and drink at the food court.

Sometime I even have it shipped to my house as the nearest Costco is 20 miles away and I usually don't make a special trip.

Very likely delo so I guess we'll call it kirkdelo. 12.66 is a poor price on its own but you have to get a membership to buy it in the first place. Mag 1 15w-40 in 10qt jugs is 29.98 regular price so it comes out to 11.99 a gal and lowes has with free shipping.

Edit: I just realized they also sell 10w-30 hdeo and somehow it's cheaper than 15w-40 which is odd since just about every brand charges more for 10w-30 hdeo compared to 15w-40.

Is the Synblend marking new? I just got a Costco membership, but also have an Exxon Valdez of 15w40, otherwise would be mildly interested in a VOA if there was a formula change.

"Delo" isn't a formulation any more than Rotella or Delvac. Those are marketing names for product lines. Delo markets lubes, grease, coolants, etc ...

It is possible that the Kirkland 15w-40 is the same as Delo 15w-40, but which one? There's more than one, after all. Or maybe it's not. It depends on the formulation agreed to in the contract between the two companies. Kirkland could be a unique formulation.

There's plenty of anecdotal evidence to show that Kirkland lubes do well in UOAs, and are licensed with the API. That's what should matter.

Yes Costco contracts with suppliers with their own set of standards. They usually aren't the exact same as the name product but very close or even better. Some examples are Kirkland premium vodka is made at the Grey Goose distillery. Their bourbon used to be Knob Creek taken out of the barrels 2 years early. They strive to provide 1 or more benefits to their members.

But I thought nearly 50% of oils fail their certifications and we can't trust meaningless certification.

Oh wait, that's a different thread of T6 bashing.
I finally gave up on that echo chamber.

I have a hankering the Kirkland Delo is their “synthetic technology”, a group two and three blend.

How bout a TBN?

How long do you run the Delvac?
Currently have the Delvac Extreme 15w-40 in the truck now. I've run T6 for almost 10k before. Although since I'm no longer going down to your great state of TX for the winter I'm no longer putting on any miles on the truck but intend to drive it for the summer at least. Maybe I can get 5k out of the Delvac in a couple years. Here's my history of UOA...

Seems to be close to what the outgoing WD oil was, if so.

maybe find a friend with costco membership and make a trip with them.. throw a rock and find one.. more than one way to "skin a cat" and that's a super deal..

The above is almost identical to the Petro-Canada Duron additive package which is printed in several languages on a tear-off booklet on the side of their pails and jugs.
A little digging into the chemicals listed suggests it’s a Lubrizol add-pack.
The new Chevron product is likely Oronite.

Nevertheless, the echo chamber, high on their own supply, communicating to each other with mimes, repeatedly spew out that API standards are almost laughable, while ignoring the manufacturer approvals that go above and beyond those minimum standards.
