What's the difference between regular kendall syn-blend and hi-perfomance syn blend?

What're the API service ratings on each? (I have a feeling "regular kendall syn-blend" is an older formulation.) The current entry-level Kendall product is labled, "Kendall GT-1 High Performance Synthetic Blend" and identified as API SM/ILSAC GL-4 - this from the Kendall product data sheet and approved for printing March, 2005. The product desctiption text squares, word-for-word, with those for current TropArtic, 76, and Conoco motor oils.

Very nice Kendall stash, Mustang_Cougar!

Me thinks you are one of the 1st at Bitog to load up on Kendall!

Well thank you for the "Kendall stash" comments. Like most everybody else at BITOG, I had no intention of buying 47 qts of Kendall when I first started loading my Big Lots cart. But as I added more and more bottles, it sort of began to look like one of those intricate domino displays...I just couldn't stop. Thus, I've got enough oil to keep my truck maintainted for two years (thanks to the AA $1.34 filter collection I now have too).

Mind you, that's only part of my stash...I've got those twelve quarts of Platinum in addition to twenty-four bottles of Mobil1 (pre-Katrina to boot, as if it really matters). I think that's probably enough oil for now, being as I'm getting ready to move west soon and I'll be hauling a lot of "dead weight." But hey, I'm looking on the bright side: $.49/qt Chevron at CSK! Woo-hoo!

Honestly, a basket full of oil didn't seem to faze them too much, other than they had to box it up for me. I've visited three other Big Lots in the meantime and have yet to see any more Kendall (or any other oil for that matter).
