Just when you thought that Ford...

Every time the auto manufacturers bring out one of these "new fresh designs" it makes the prices of used trucks increase. I'd rather drive down south and buy an older truck with no rust than one of these hideous things. Look at the inflated price of Ford 7.3 trucks.

I showed my wife. She giggled and wanted to know if it was a ghetto truck--wondered if it was a drug dealers vehicle.

Is this because of Fiat and Italian design?
If so they should let Ferrari or Lamborghini have a try at it.
That truck is just ugly.

Let's just hope that this is some sort of a hoax.

I never thought Ford was king of tacky or bad ideas.

Trucks used to be good looking in an understated, functional sort of way.
They've become increasingly cartoonish in recent years.
I could not drive this thing without feeling foolish.
Too much fake macho, but it will appeal strongly to certain buyers.
Pretty sure Chryco did its market research while designing something for this important and highly profitable market.

Yup, I was a big fan of this body style:

Things have gone downhill from there.

Totally agree, but I think it sells to a lot of potential pickup buyers. I know it does to my neighbor. On several occasions he has bragged to me about the size of his grille, size of his mirrors, and size of his exhaust finisher. He's a good candidate for this truck, no?

Is it just me, or does anyone else wonder what those buying these trucks are trying to compensate for?
Or is it simply a matter of so many people having such bad taste?

Oh, he is just perfect for this truck. He's the target audience.

Hahaha he actually brags about the size of his grille and mirrors?? Wow, someone has some insecurity issues.

What do you expect?

The consumers that go for this tacky nonsense want to
imagine themselves driving a big Mack or Peterbuilt...
Bhahahaaaa. Never under estimate the stupidity of the consumer, especially today.

That's been the target audience for the Ram since the 90's redesign. IIRC back then they were interviewed in MT or some other mag saying that was their design goal - the "big trucks". All show and no go, typical Chrysler.

I'd imagine that's why the Cummins sell - because it looks like a baby Class 8 rig, and the Cummins lends "street cred" to that. Long been said it's an excellent engine in a POS truck.
