Some people just like to complain I think. IF you post a short message you are condemned for not explaining it more BUT if you post a long winded response you are accused of being a blowhard. Some folks are just too funny.
Well you could just make it short and to the point. Facts to back up your opinion are always welcome. Just don't say a vehicle is a "joke" unless you've spent time in it. Simply say "it's not for me" and leave it at that. Then you won't get raked over the coals because it sounds like you can dish it out but you can't take it.
I can take it. If I am wrong in something I post and it is pointed out to me I always own up to my errors such as with towing capacity. The rest of the comments directed at me had nothing to do with facts. They were just personal insults.
Don't need to drive a vehicle to comment on it's shortcomings for specific uses either. The hard data is there( towing, hauling, MPG, HP/FTLBS, seating ). I did not comment on the vehicle in a negative way as far as actually driving it. Never talked about how it drove in a negative manner at all. Simply talked about using it for a specific set of reasons that at best it was only adequate at but cost as much as other vehicles that blow it away ability wise.
I had plenty of facts posted. Unfortunately, even the facts were dismissed and labeled as just opinion by some with a HUGE bias. Doesn't matter what you post if it has a negative tone some will go after you for it. There are some who can't take it. I am not one of them.
Well, here is my opinion based on facts: I own one and can say without question that it is the best vehicle I have ever owned. This is coming from a former Ford and Chevy guy (owned everything from a F150, Focus, Maverick, Sable, Luv, Ranger, S10 and others). I like the new F150's and Silverados but they don't fit my need. The Ridge is perfect and drives like a charm. Now go get a real Jeep!
