I just changed my oil today with Motorcraft syn blend today and a STP updated oil filter. I hate that autozone had an oil book with thenold size filter what about the people who didnt get the noticed about the new filter size? I was surpised to see that STP an Fram had different lengths for the same filter but oh well. In 5k miles I will do a UOA and post it here! Hope things go well!

I want to see a MC UOA because I do MC ~5k OCIs as well.

whoops I have the 1.8t and went with 5w30. I have 190002 miles now and if my budget had not gone so down I would have gotten M1 but I feel ok with the motorcraft as right now I am on a budget. I got the 3569 filter instead of the old 2870A

2870A is no longer recommended, only the bigger sized units for the 1.8t, like STP S3569. Most people use full synth in that engine. I just posted a good PP 5w30 UOA. In a SoCal climate, 15w40 would be the dino oil of choice, even a SAE 30 HD.

I would have bought syn but with the funds cant afford it right now. I got the new filter but the autozone book had the old size so I used my blackberry to check the web on the correct size of the filter. I feel bad for the people who dont know better.

Is fixing a ruined turbo in your budget? I'd stick with the proper OEM filter and full synthetic oil in that engine. Anything else is in my opinion a liability.
