Autozone to add royal Purple.

Maybe this is an impossible question but what could you compare the HPS to? Is it better than something like Mobil 1 Extended Protection?
I am not a chemist, or a tribologist, or even that smart to be honest.

HPS IMO, would be comparable to exotics like Amsoil, Redline, or HPL. It is also dual rated, for HD diesel engines. Per RP, 3.8 HTHS with 5w30= not to shabby.

I know nothing about Mobil1 EP

Went to autozone today and was told by someone who works there that they are getting some new product offerings. Other than the STP ML oil filter that just came out. They will be starting to receive Royal Purple Oil and Filters. Also some more liquimoly options are coming as well I was told. Its 41 usd for 5 quarts and 13 for a quart.

I also saw a sign for it that has a deal of this with an stp xl filter is 37 dollars. I know royal purple does not have the biggest rep. But I wonder if this will be a good thing in any way or if it will end up being DOA. Since cost is normally the issue people have with royal purple.
I've always ran it in my rx-7 race car as well as the diff fluid that is designed for limited slip differentials. Never an issue.

Hps is considerably less money than those 3. My local Napa sells hps for $10 a qt. XPR, would be more on the same level cost wise is around, or under $16 per qt and as high as $20.

XPR is a racing oil as I understand. Not really a daily driver product. HPS is less money, you can get 5 gallon heavy duty containers from Amazon.

IMO a really good value.

That was my thoughts until I reached out to RP. They got back almost immediately and assured me that the ad pack allows for extended intervals on a daily driver. There’s some used oil analysis on here somewhere of folks who have used it as normal.

I’ve got a few cases of HPS and no issues with it. Amazon was selling cases for $60 and I picked up a case from a local speed shop for around $50, if memory serves. There’s a local engine builder who builds some pretty gnarly racing engines and swears by their break in oil.

Does anyone actually know what synerlec even is? Kind of like Schaeffer and their penetro. Sounds fancy enough I guess.

Royal Purple, what’s next, Amsoil?
AMSOIL Signature Series is available hit and miss at a few independent auto parts stores. Mainly the AMSOIL Signature Series line. Drove into a Cenex in Eldon Missouri for 91 e0, they had a bait shop, FFL, and sold soda, beer, and some oil. Ive seen Amsoil OE at Ace Hardware before.
