As the title says I added 8oz of MMO to the crankcase last night. I have been using the recommended dose in the fuel over the past couple of weeks and just decided to experiment with it in the crankcase. I only have 1000 miles to go on this change so it won't be in all that long. BTW, we are talking about an 03 Neon 52k miles. Anyone else use MMO in the oil?

It's been used in cycles to clean the starter bendix that's varnished and sticking.
It'll help with a dirty lifter(s), but a lot of add-ins will do that.
Shouldn't hurt anything.
You can overdo the MMO in the gas, BTW.
Occasionally is fine.

I used to use one quart of it and 3 quarts of regular oil in my old Mazda with sticky lifters. They stayed silent after the 2nd time I changed the oil and never came back to being noisy. I was doing 3k changes then.

I use it all the time. If not at every oil change at least every other. Usually I'll add 1/2 quart to the 2.7L in my intrepid about 500 miles before changing the oil. I did notice the oil consumption increases a little bit, but the MMO I'm sure knocks down the viscocity a little bit. I've used it plenty over the years and my dad recommends it. I used it to free a sticky valve in his snowblower, and when I had the same problem on my Chevy truck he said try it. I did and within a couple days the rough running was gone. Good stuff.

I forgot to mention I do use it in the fuel from time to time also. One thing I did notice that may or may not have been caused by using MMO in the fuel was a reddish color to my spark plugs when I changed them a few years ago. It could have come from a additive in the gasoline around her or it could have been the MMO.

i've heard the dye in MMO can do that.

Use MMO in my gas and oil. Keeps things quiet and clean !

I use it religiously in the gas. I use 8oz per 10 gal or
twice the recomended amount. I have seen an engine with the
heads off that I used it in and it keeps the upper end
clean. Also lubes the fuel injectors. I run it in every
gas engine I own and is great stuff. If you do go too heavy
it will effect your fuel mileage. Great Stuff

i've got sludge big time.. I think i'll be adding rislone to crank case with every oil change for a LONG time.

At least that's better than adding mineral spirits to your oil.

But if you want to clean out sludge safely and effectively, consider AutoRX.
