I'd be highly concerned about a wrangler having way too short of a wheelbase to haul anything. An unlimited may work but the short one would easily flip something like that.
I don't see how a recent GC you can't go wrong. I concur 4x4 trucks with extra cabs are quite (over)pricey lately and you get to haul around air in a long vehicle majority of the time.
