JD Souther Passing

JD Souther, singer/songwriter of many great hits, has passed away. My wife and I just saw him perform a week and a half ago. Another sad day in music history.

John David was a very big part of creating that monster , the music/money generating machine known as The EAGLES. Glen Frey always called him the 5th Eagle. He was asked many times early on and even after they hit it big time to join. JD always said "why, you guys do not need me at all." "You are complete and I would just be in the way BUT will do anything you guys need." So what he did do was co-write or help them iron out and finish song lyrics or musical arrangements. He also filled in for them at many shows or in the studio to perform or record when guys could not make it in for various reasons over the years. Never heard one bad or foul comment about JD Souther. He even did some acting from time to time,
