What do you think about the various Japanese oil brands?
(A.S.H, power cluster, ENEOS, WAKOS, NEWEST etc.)

Actually, only in north-eastern asian region, they are sold much more than any other brand(such as M1, BP, Total, shell, SK, etc.)

In addition, they are sold with the higher price (even 2 times higher)than the major listed above, even though many of the Japanese brands do not release the information(MSDS, PDS)on their web-site.

Nevertheless, due to the successful marketing strategy, they are highly evaluated.

As fancy as I'm willing to get is to just stick to Idemitsu as an easy to get OEM supplied Japanese oil brand.

For regular stuff, I just stick to QSUD, PP, and may start using Mobil 1 as their SN doesn't seem to show the high Fe wear numbers like the SM did.

I noticed that in the power cluster logo it says "Star Spangled Technology". Last I knew, the Japanese flag didn't have any stars. Are they saying this to make the product seem more "American"?

Nissan does?

I thought they would have single supplier sourced by now from Elf or Motul

thank you for the comment.

Many Koreans here, tend to stick to PAO and ester based oil.

So I made up my mind to use M1 rather than any other Japanese oil(in therms of PAO) and to use Motul rather than Power cluster etc,

I would guess that Japan does ok in making auto and aircraft oil, anyone remember Pearl Harbor, they made, flew, and sailed their own products. You decide................good day.

And? Your point?

We're only familiar with Nippon Oil (ENEOS and Sustina) and Idemitsu of the Japanese oil formulators here in NA.
I'm sure the other Japanese brands are fine as well. Having said that, if PDS info is not available that would limit my interest in any oil.

my eyes turned very moist when visiting the arizona memorial; i don't play around about pearl harbor; oh, and by the way the zero pilots forgot to blow up the OIL storage tanks.

I don't know anything about Speedmaster, but if you find it in Canada, the price should be amusing, or, more accurately, alarming.

Seems to me that dwelling on something that happened more than 65 years ago isn't very productive, especially when you consider
the country in question is one of our biggest allies today, and one of the few countries who's population has an overall very positive view of the USA.
