I'm Maine in the 90s I was using 5w-30.

Used a lot of Valvoline in my cars back then. Would probably use Restore & Protect if they would sell it in Canada at a good price.

I’m a little late to the party (didn’t get my license til 2005), but my first car, a 1989 Camry 2.0L, got Kendall 10w40 conventional and a Fram orange can. My dad went with me and helped me buy it. We probably got it simply because it was cheap at Murray’s auto, $1.99/qt everyday price haha.

My second car, a 1999 Escort ZX2, got Kendall 5w30 syn blend. At that point I bought the oil myself. I went with the brand I knew I guess.

In the 90s for me it was Valvoline white bottle, napa conventional. Castrol gtx if it was going in dad's vehicles. Dad was a Castrol guy. I was Valvoline back then

In the 90s I used Cenex branded oil, bought it in 2.5 gallon jugs from the farm supply store.

Havoline 10w40 in the 1976 Buick Electra 225 and 1980 Chevy Impala. Havoline 10w30 in the 1992 Oldsmobile 88.

I was using M1 5W-30 in the 90's.

I used Mobil 1 5w-30 in my 1987 Ford Aerostar. After 160K , just about everything had broken at some point , but M1 kept the engine working perfectly. I'd bought an unlimited mileage (!) extended warranty, and Ford paid out close to the value of the van in repairs.

My dad always ran Castrol GTX 20w50 in everything in the 90’s. Cars, lawnmowers, anything with an engine.

He used to catch it on sale at Trac Auto and buy it by the case.

10-40 and one car i used 20-50 in summer as it was older v8 with high miles.

In the 90s I had a 1993 S-10 2.8 V6 and a 1980 Olds Cutlass with a 4.3 V8 and they both got Mobil 1 15-50 I never had a problem.

Early 90’s, PYB 5-w30 usually. Mid to late nineties I had switched to Castrol usually 5w-30, but sometimes 10w-30.

Good Day folks and fellow veterans. My real dad always used Valvoline 15w40 in our Olds Vista Cruiser and his 88’ Dakota. What oil did you folks use back then?

Pennzoil 10w30 and 20w50 the BX would have it on sale occasionally and I'd buy a couple cases for the car, truck and bike.
