Is there a longer filter than a 7317?

After doing a search, it does not appear that I can find a filter longer than a 7317 series filter. I saw some information that indicated that WIX 1357 was slightly longer (3.4 versus 3.2)however the WIX site lists them as the same length (diameter being equal). My application is restricted in diameter but not in length.

Any ideas? Thanks guys.

How 'bout the Purolator 24458? It's over 3.9" long.

Longer oil filter for what application? In the May 2005 issue of Hot Rod pg 151, they show the various oil filters for the Chevy V8. The shortest is the stubby PF 454. The longest is the PF932 at 8".

The application is my bike. The Purolator filter mentioned is wider than a 7317 filter - will not work. The only area in which I am not constrained is length.

I went through everything that the Donalson search engine puked out with your thread size. The one you list is apparently the longest in that diameter. There is one shorter ...but your current filter appears to be the longer one.

Thank you very much Gary - I really appreciate that. I kind of figured that the 7317 was as long as that width filter got, but was not entirely certain. I'll stop worrying about it now...!
