Only having 1 arm makes manual can openers a non issue Ive had several electric ones but the best one is the stainlees steel Cuisinart I got as a present since it holds the can even after the top is off, and can hold those 25 oz tomato cans securely.

Another OXO Smooth Edge Can Opener user here. Work well and last for years. Keep a new one on hand just in case.

The EZ-DUZ-IT can opener is my go to. They made the parts for Swingaway before they went to China. Ive had two EZ DUZ Its because the first one grew legs

That's kind of unrealistic, I mostly use fresh foods when I cook and usually make stuff from scratch but there is no way in he!! I Maaking crushed, stewed, or tomato paste (just to name a few), its simply unrealistic, I can't nor do I want to spend 2 days making sauce.

I still use the same Monopol Super smooth edge can opener that I bought over 20 years ago. It's never let me down.

I don't think swing-a-way is the same anymore... I recently bought one of their Veggie Peelers, the good old fashioned kind, though the handle was rubber dipped..

within a week, the blade came apart, slid right off the bar it's mounted to through the handle.
I tried to solder it in place, no bueno. came back apart after 1-2 uses.
too cheap of a thing to take the time to have my nephew weld, it went in the trash.

I don't use a can opener more than once a month. Most everything I get in a can has a pull top. I have an under cabinet mount Black and Decker for over 20 years.

We have both types, the smooth is a Pampered Chef, not sure what the rough one is but both have lasted a long time and both work well but I still use one of the really little openers I've had for close to 30 years, we couldn't afford anything better back then.

We have two electric can openers lol one was included with the house when we bought it in 2002 and it’s lasted that long. It’s mounted under the cabinets. The other is a tabletop one. We get frustrated with the manual ones.

I went through this. I finally said to h*ll with it and bought the cheapest all metal old-fashioned kind I could find, the kind that hurts your hand a bit when you squeeze it. Works perfectly.
