They are probably buying it and reselling on their shelves. The local party store down the street from my house sells Great Value milk. They get it at Walmart and mark it up.

In Detroit they use stolen or bought bridge cards / snap benefits to buy ( fill in blank) and sell it in their party stores at inflated prices. Its the only city in America you can buy single cigarettes for a buck.

There's an independent gas station that sells super tech including diesel 15w40 quarts! They only take cash.

I think it would be a riot to open my own store, sell super tech oil for a buck a quart, and bring my own flyer in to force them to price match my cart full of cases.

I read about a Canadian entrepreneur who has opened shop in British Columbia reselling stuff that he bought at Trader Joe's. He calls his business Pirate Joe's. Apparently TJ's is suing him for trademark infringement and other stuff. He's been cut off from buying stuff at several TJ's in Washington, and he's either worn disguises or sent employees to buy for him. He's not in trouble with the Canadian authorities since he pays duties on everything.

Are there any TJ's in Canada? Any in his province?

None in Canada, although I understand they've filed several trademarks in Canada. Oh - a federal judge dismissed the case.

The owner of the store said he's gladly give up his operation if TJ's would open stores in British Columbia.

Chevron lubricants are available from wholesalers specifically for resale. WM doesn't sell anything wholesale. You also can't get any WM house brands at Sam's Club, which does cater to resellers. I see Chevron Supreme for sale at Costco, and pretty much the only conventional oils sold at my local warehouses.

The thing I'm thinking is that the ST stuff is probably cheaper at retail than other brands at wholesale.

Yo, Ho, Ho & a battle of Dumbs!

p.s. I'd be checking the seal on any SuperTech oil I bought anywhere O/T WalMart, that's for sure!
