Is RP 0w-20 good for 10K?

I was able to get a pretty good stash from the most recent AZ clearance. A lot of what I picked up has been confirmed good for 10K OCIs. Especially the Mobil 1 oils. Right now at 9500 miles and I'm itching to change it, but I am committed to 10K!

I have quite a bit of RP 0w-20. Enough for 2 intervals on the Focus. I can't find any UOA data on that here on BITOG. I will be using a Fram Ultra synthetic oil filter (should be good for 10K).

This is on my Ford Focus with 73K miles. This truck serves pickup duty in addition to commuting, so it does tow my camper around and utility trailer. Sump capacity is ~5 quarts.

Is this a 7500 mile oil or 10K oil for my application?

I believe RP claims it to be a 12K oil....I'm sure 10K would be no problem as long as it's not all 'city miles'.

Is this for your Focus or truck? The Ford Duratec is known to be pretty easy on oil.

I've got one truck that has 2 qts RP 0W-20 and 3 qts 15w40 Rotella in the crankcase. 12,000 miles and the oil looks great. I'll probably change it when the summer starts to get really hot.

My Focus is our grocery getter(mostly local) and does just fine at 10K OCI with Mobil 1 0w20. RP 0-20 will be fine as well.

Even for me that's a pretty radical mix.
And is it safe to say you have had no issues?
Keep us updated if it blows up.

Doesn't the focus with a 1.6 specify 10K OCI anyway? Ours did. And that is using Motocraft semi-syn. You should have no problems with RP.

Haha, whoops! I mean the Focus serves pickup truck duty. I have a utility trailer and a camper it tows.

This is my first 10K run. I paid $2/quart for the RP, so I'm not married to getting every last penny out of it.

It's a duratec engine, pretty easy on oil from everything on here.

I guess I'll shoot for between 7500 and 10k

I think OneEyeJack does 10k on RP....in your place maybe leave it in and take a sample for UOA at 7500.

7,500 miles on clearance oil is your getting your money's worth I'd say. How much does the camper weigh?

I can't think of a single reason why it would?

Camper weight was 850 dry when I bought it. I removed a bunch of stuff. I'd say, fully loaded, maybe 1400 pounds. The last trip I took with the camper attached to the car through the Adirondack mountains I got 33 MPG. I don't think it stresses the car too much.
