You can't win with these weasels. First (some 15+ years ago) they said man's activities would throw us into an ice age. When the evidence showed otherwise, they concocted global warming. Now since the weather is not adding up for the straight out global warming, they concoct a new idea (tweak the assumptions on the computer, twist the data a bit more, etc.) and tell us the global warming model predicts wild swings in weather. Buncombe! The variation in the reliability of the assumptions, weather collection data, etc. is far greater than the presumed precision of their "estimates."

Why, after the tsunami, some socialist preacher was quoted on the radio as saying the tsunami serves as a warning about global warming.

I was in Illinois the past two weeks and I couldnt wait to get home because of how cold it is out there...Now that I am home it is horrible here. We got about a ft today and its cold.

Nope, it was only 0F here yesterday and it snowed all day. The plus side of this though, is that the snow was very light, so it was easy to shovel. When it's 20-35F and it snows, it ends up being a big thick heavy mess to shovel.

We didn't end up getting nearly as much snow as they predicted. We got less than 3 inches here in Mississauga. It was worse in other areas closer to the lake though. It looks worse here though, since the winds were so high so it blew the drifts deeper.

I had 8 inches in the driveway last night when I went to pick up dinner. I drove mmy Grand Prix just to see if she could handle it. Not a problem at all. You have love snow tires.

I was told to expect 18 inches by this morning. It's still blowing and snowing as I type this. I have to trek down the driveway to get the paper. I;ll take a measurement and see where we are at.

About four inches here. The GC 0W/30 is still green in my snowblower. We were at the bottom of the storm.

...Still waiting for our nearly annual dump of the white stuff here in mostly sunny

Charlotte, NC- or at least the guaranteed 3 day ice storms, compliments of the Gulf coast and Atlantic ocean colliding weather fronts coming up from Atlanta...we're originally from western New York on Lake Erie-we know snow (it is darned fun to snowmobile and plow the stuff )the yokels here act like they've come from Mars
freak2.gif
(some of them are)and never seen the stuff before nor do the lame brain county officials know what to do about it once it gets here (every year!)...storms here are rated as "loafers": how severe the prediction is how many loafs of Wonderbread the locals clean out of the grocery stores and milk (why not beer and fritos?
cheers.gif
)...example, if the forecast is for three consecutive snowflakes, it will certainly call for picking up three loafs of Wonderbread and Twinkies to survive the onslaught of being trapped at the house or school...Raleigh, 3 hrs NW of here had an inch a few days ago (fringe snow from the Northeast normal dump) and they were at a totally incapacitated and dumbfounded condition.

Asheville, NC (western, NC-higher elevations like that of West VA.)typically sees snow a number of times during the winter...

I've got about 2ft here and 6F.. it's still slightly snowing, but the wind is really howling. I should drive to the beach (less than 2 mi) and check out the water.

Holy Toledo! Geez, now I feel lucky that we only got around 18"-20". Winds are making for some pretty cool drifts. Real glad this wasn't a weekday storm. At least I got to tackle it on my terms and have some fun with the kids too. Darn 9 y/o son got me good with a hard packed snowball to the back of the head!

My poor 12 y/o lab used to love playing in the snow but now doesn't want anything to do with it. He has this look on his face as if he's saying "I'm too old for this, let the young mutt freeze her arse off". OTOH, the 2 y/o mutt would stay out there all day if we let her. I think she'd play fetch with the soccer ball until she was frostbitten.
